  1. looking to put new disk brakes on my 47. Where do I go too find a conversion kit? allso a Power master cylinder? Maybe power rack steering? The motor is out of car so now is the time to make it better. Thanks Gary:)
  2. Been getting most of the bugs worked out of her. The fluid drive has been shifting fairly well. It still smokes very badly but have stopped all the oil being spilled out of the oil filler and dipstick hole. I still can't get the brake light to turn off after releasing the pedal. Once it sits for about a hour the brakes lights will go off. I have replaced the pressure senser allready. Do they make a less sensetive brake switch or if I was to raize the senser up about 3 inches or so would it help to drain off the pressure faster? Got the door panels done and now working on the windlace before attacking the headlinner
  3. first off I really want to thank you all for your respounce to my last enquire. It sure did help with the ulpolstery. I get the car back next week and am planning on pulling the motor for a rebuild. The manuel said I would have to pull the radiator with the front fenders as a hole. sury I read that wrong! I know I need to pull the hood but Front Fenders too?!? also I am looking at getting the 4 barrel manifold from stovebolt and then putting the 3-97's with adapter from speedway on it? To much carbs or any other suggestions? where do I go to get spec for a build up of my 250?
  4. what a great way to start with a new project Better than a lot of show cars out there congrations
  5. thanks for all the help I have the sill mats but 2 of them are very rustery and most of the rubber is gone. I might use them as a pattern too make new ones then figure a way of covering them with rubber.
  6. thank you this was what I was seeking
  7. so omighty Guru's how doees one get the strapes that hang down in the back seats off? allso does any one make the after market for the door steps that cover the interance below the door? or the ruber mat that goes on them? thanks Gary
  8. my car has been converted to 12 volts neg grownd and I do not have the orignal carb with the dohickey that crontrolls the transmission. It backs fires though the oil pan so badley that it was launching the oil cap into the hood. I put a hose on it directing it down to the street so the cab doesen't fill with smoke when this happens. I have 1st and 3rd gears by shifting and some times after the I have drove a bit it will shift from 1st into 2nd and then to 4th. I plan on putting a dual manifold, split exchuast and maybee the hei dist after the rebuild. any help would be aprecated p.s. great lookin motor in yours
  9. fred Are you running a flat head 6 also? ever done anything to your motor? I am looking to pull mine out next momth for a overhaul. the machine shop (orielly's, Where I work) will send it back to me ready to assemby myself. My flui=drive isn't workin and am wondering of any other trans mission I could use instead? I hate too spend 600. for a conversion plate to use a 350 turbo!
  10. thats my 27 T I've had for the last 41 years. First car I ever built. Running a ford 289 Crobra/c-4/ford 9 in posi with 4.11 gears yes it will smoke em if need be. The Chrysler on the other hand smokes all the times, back fires though the oil pan, and shifts into high only ocasionaly.
  11. what do I need to do to change to disk brakes on my 47 chrysler? I work at Oriellys so I can get most of the hardware cheap. Also a rack and pinon power stearing system? I be dropping a 360 in later do I keep the old rear end or up grade it? Thanks Gary & Reba
