  1. My neighbor is junking a 94 Bronco, full size. Gave me the seats, power buckets, and rear bench seat. The rear seat fit PERFECT for the rear seat of my 37 Ply 4 door. The buckets are an easy fit also. I will deliver a case of Root Beer to him. My other neighbor gave me a very nice bench seat, from a Surburban, 3rd row seat, about 48 inch wide, that fits perfect in my 38 or 37 coupe. Now I need to pick up another case of Root Beer.
  2. A guy really needs a good pit crew though.
  3. Put off today, what you can do tomorrow, or the next day, or later, or when ever. If I ever get this one finished, I will start another project.
  4. Your question makes good sense. New material on the clutch will give you that soft touch feeling, similar to new tires. Time, heat, cold, and moisture will make the material lose it's new feeling.
  5. You will have a very nice cruiser for sure, no matter what power plant you have. Does your engine have the 2 barrel carb? My 56 engine has the 2 barrel, going into a 37 Coupe, trying to mate up a 5 speed. Your stock 56 had around 130 Hp, so would have plenty of power for a cruiser. Good Luck, Bob:)
  6. I used a twin size, but should have used a larger size. The stitching is ever 2 inches, so I had to cut part to 1 layer to lengthen to fit around rear window.
  7. This was my first interior job. Have been working on the 38 Coupe many years, from ground up.
  8. Yes, it is a bed blanket from Walmart $12 each. A quality bed blanket has 2 layers back to back with stitching every 2 inch apart. I bought 3 so if I did not do a good job, but the first blanket looked real nice. I have 2 more to use for kick panels, door panels, and etc.
  9. There is no reason not drive a vehicle, while doing a Frame-Off.
  10. But, these black coupes are difficult to keep clean.
  11. What makes this a great hobby, is everyone has their own opinion of what they like and do not like. It is better to see one "butchered" than have it go to the crusher, or sit in a field to where there is not much remaining. While ATVing, I found 4 Plymouths, late 40s, with no way to get them out of the valley. I am trying to keep one of my 38s as original as possible. The other 38, and other 2 37s, who knows, thinking 1 rat, 1 custom, and 1 replica dirt tracker. Bob, Retirement-I need a job to get some rest.
  12. Yes, it did come out better than I could have hoped for. A quality blanket has stretch, so the corners were not so difficult. I stretched a little each day on the corners, giving them time to settle in. What made the job easy, was that the blanket has stitching every 2 inches, allowing for placement of the support rods where they needed to be. A quality blanket has 2 layers sown back to back.
  13. I bought my headliner from Walmart, $12. Bought a quality green blanket. It has double layers, stitching every 2 inches that the bows fit in.
  14. *********Congrats*******. My Uncle and Aunt got married in 1956, in their 1936 Plymouth Coupe. The 36 still in their garage today. Best of Luck. Bob:)
  15. My 38 Plymouth Coupe has the spare tire on a mount behing the passenger seat, a small shelf unit behind the driver seat, and a large package tray on top of those two things.
  16. I used a lot of material from modern cars that I have junked.
  17. I painted my brake parts non gloss black, I figured that would match any color for other parts. I use Black or White paint for parts, since I can never make a decision on colors. decisions, decisions, decisions:confused:
  18. My Parts List book from 1938 has listed; Hot Water Heater, Heater to rear compartment, heater outlet elbow, floor outlet, Sedan heaters 680721 and 680722. Book has heaters as Model No. 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25. Heater No.15 as Junior, No.25 and No.16 as Standard, No.22 as Duo-Airstream, No.21and No.24 as Tri-Airstream, No. 23 as Super-Airstream.

  21. What bothers me the most about Chrysler, is the dealers. Before I bought a Dodge Avenger for my wife, I went to many Dodge dealers. ALL the sales people were the most dishonest car salesman I have every know. I know sales people are there to make every $ they can, and I am trying to spend as little as possible, but for them to be completely dishonest for over 2 hours trying to get every $ they can, is just not right. Since all the Dodge dealers had the same dishonet tactics in this area, I believe this can hurt sales as much as not having good quality or desirable cars to sell. Anyway, the 2000 Avenger with the V6, can get 354 miles on 9.7 gallons. Wonder what the new econ cars will get, MPG.
  22. This adapter was available on Ebay not long ago for the T5 to flathead engine. I did not copy the seller infomation, only saved a picture as to make my own adapter plate. Use your own starter, bell housing, trans/motor mounts.
