  1. Hi. Yes they do https://vansauto.com/product/gas-tank-49-52/ Look a bit different though. Same price. No product information though:-) I have just noticed one of the ebay seller is obviously vans https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mopar-49-50-51-52-Chrysler-Dodge-Desoto-Plymouth-Galvanized-Gas-Tank-Fuel-Tank/362228646842 And so do these guys on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1949-PLYMOUTH-DODGE-DESOTO-CHRYSLER-BRAND-NEW-FUEL-TANK-POWDER-COATED-BLACK-P18/183025382970 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gas-tank-for-49-52-Dodge-Plymouth-Chrysler-and-DeSoto-steel-fuel-tank/352289231679
  2. On ebay there are around 4 to 5 sellers offering reproduction tanks for my car. Some claiming "steel", some "galvanised" as highlights. Some are pure steel colour, others black. Has anybody has made any experience with these offerings? Any difference in what they have, a difference in price there certainly is not. thanks P.S. I am asking for a friend of mine.
  3. By the way - any recommendations for a good 6 Volt electical fuel pump? thanks
  4. Thank you very much. No rush please. I am in no urgency what so ever. Thom
  5. Thanks for coming back to me and pardon my English. It is the firewall end I am interested in.
  6. Hi. Could someone show me a picture of the inside, OEM hinge structure of the bonnet. I am not sure if my setup is correct. It feels like I am missing some connections. Thanks
  7. Still hoping to find one who has the exact measurements for this hexnut so I can go for the hunting exercise.
  8. Sorry. Had an internet issue. Therefore I posted this message twice. Can this one be deleted?
  9. Hi. Finalising the upholstery plans the carpet and the fabric/ possibly leather is still to be decided upon. I know, it is in the eye of the beholder. Stil .... Is there a real difference between the different suppliers of carpet material. So if it says cut pile, 80/20 etc. does it really matter where you buy the material from? I have for the first time read about the 600 series loop carpet for as little as 12 USD from albrigths. Is this material any good vs. the other two. Can Albrights and its low price really be trusted? thanks

  11. Admittingly a goog throw - but one with a very negative side effect. My boy decided to pick-up the wiper motor, resulting in the only hex nut available becoming loose. Next on the agenda was a good throw into the garden. And now, nowhere to be found. Buggggggggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ? Not his fault. But very, very annoying. I checked the parts book. No help. Does anybody have this particular hex nut (linkage between the wiper motor and the actual linkage arrm, rests inside the bushing etc.) dimensions so I can get replacements? thanks And yes - you are all allowed to start laughing ?
  12. Thanks - and the fact that the inside is not hex shaped did not make any impact on the actual performance? thanks
  13. Hi, the original set-up consisted of something that might have once been a clip but rusted away into the nowhere the moment I looked at it. So thanks for your hint. Thom
  14. My set-up is completely different. Rubber, inside in the shape of the nut. But the rubber is too dry and breaking apart. So I desperately need the bushings. Where? I need one nut screw as it is missing. Where? I have not found this type of E-clip yet. thanks
  15. Murphys law - what I currently touch turns into another piece of additional work. Quite annoying. Having repaired - so I believe - the wiper motor itself I noticed: a) The grommets/ bushing in the wiper arm linkage are dried up and crumble away. Where can I get those one - they are different insofar as the inside is in the shape of a nut. b) One nut screw is missing - a nut that connects the wiper motor arm with the linkage - any idea where I can get this, the are different because of itheir height c) E clip - I simply can not find an e-clip over here that is both small and long enough tö hold down the linkage thanks for all your help. thom
  16. I understand. That might be a thought. And talking about damn government. Your situation looks just greaatttt. Any imports to Germany result in A. adding the value added tax (not sure what value it adds, but it certainly adds 19% to the purchase price :-)) B. Import duties depending on the type of product, material, the state of the trade war issues currently in place The only good thing - I do not have to pay for value added taxes in the US ? thanks for your enlightenment.
  17. Done in a similar fashion as 48windsor. With the minor difference that the old gasket simply came off by just looking at it. This is how brittle the material was ? ?
  18. Thanks for your additional advice. Europe does not really cater for US cars. Certainly not for cars of our period. So the seach always has to be directed towards US suppliers unfortunately. As to your Steele Rubber disappointment. I am sorry to hear this again. I have now approached various suppliers and shall wait for their response. My issue is with the car being a convertible that it is also different than the standard offerings. But I shall be getting there in time. The gasket and weatherstrip change is a task for the winter anyway. And winters tend to be very long in Munich, Germany ?
  19. Did some research. It looks like the convertibles used a saran like fabric. Never heard of before but is a kind of PVC like material. Interesting.
  20. Steelrubber certainly has a good reputation, but also a high price. What about other resources like the online mopar-direct supplier or moparmall? Any experience? thanks
  21. Good thinking ?But no I am sure. I have taken everything out and checked the state of the material. ?
  22. That surely looks nice. You are absolutely right. One can not take any fabric (Ok that is mistakenly said - you can take any fabric. In the end, the question is how often do you want to change it). I haven't finally made up my mind what to do in the end. I shall talk to an upholstery soon and will then decide. This is how my car looks like - on the surface by just looking at the picture great. In reality quite dirty, full of greases, which even the best cleaning detergent did not manage to take off. And a few cuts on various parts (increasingly growing). Interestingly, it is actually not a cloth but feels like a "washable plasticy material". Could be original - not not first day original, but original in the sense that this might have been the type of material that was used then. Not sure, what material that might be. I am planning to reusing the vinyl fabric - simply it is everywhere and I want to change as little as possible. So not sure of the Highland approach makes sense - even if I go the green highlander route. Certainly not something as light as currently. Maybe leather? But not sure how this would work with the Vinyl stuff? As you can see - I am still clueless, but then why not ?
