  1. What is the metal ring your puller is grasping? Is it just a large washer? A few large washers? I would think they would bend and the puller would come off. Maybe I'm just being too pessimistic.
  2. I hope this didn't double post... First, is there a difference in window regulators between cabs with vs. without vent windows? I can do with out them if need be.. Second, Has any one removed their "decent" glass for nice new glass. If so, I would like to inquire about the decent stuff. The only glass on mine that's decent is drivers windshield, and the three back windows. The rest is broken/missing. If I stick with the vent windows I'll need the piece of chrome trim that attaches to the passenger door window. Let me know. I have a couple items that others may want. Drivers door mirror bracket & original tail light with glass, chrome ring etc.
  3. My own 2cents..... Is that a "rare" chrome tail light I see peeking around the rear fender?
  4. DOH! I found out the info I needed in the Pilot-House Knowledge area of the DPETCA website. Should have gone there first...
  5. Well now that my son's VW Bus broke and a loan to him has broken me, I'm working on stuff that only takes time and not (much) money on my truck. I have a question. What are the torque specs for the rear axle castle nuts on my B2C? The fronts? Are they like "normal" spindles where you pretty much tighten them kinda finger tight? Or is there a ft lbs torque spec? Anybody know anything about a '73 VW Micro Bus?
  6. No glove, no glove box! If he did put one in the glove box it would have fallen ontop the heater! I think I just found the tip of a nose!
  7. Yup, me and "A-Rod" shared needles too! As for the cars I paid $150 for each of those cars and drove them for close to a year each. I was very young and I wasn't nice to them but they took a lickin'. I sold each of them for what I paid. The '68 needed a new 3rd member (A Pig is what we used to call them). I got one for under $20and sold the car. The '66 just started blowing oil, but I still sold it. They were both very rusty 318 mobiles, the '66 had the old style 318. It looked like a big block! LOL!
  8. Reg, Why did I set the odo back to "0"? Since I had no idea of the actual mileage, I didn't even know if it was the original speedo and I was redoing it, I just put it back to zero. It was at 40some thousand miles, I knew that couldn't be right. The title said "mileage unknown-exceeded mechanical capabilities." I don't have the resources to restore this back to factory new condition, so I'm not doing it to commit fraud. So I guess it was just because.
  9. I'm with you Reg. I did purchase a set, but did ask if he could just send the numbering and graphics with out black background. That would be great then I could just put the white lettering on my own background. It would be better for him to do it this way if the backgrounds are different from different years. Putting a flat sticker on a concave face with a raised center wont be easy. I may use a circle cutter and trim out the raised center area and use only the outer "ring" of numbers/graphics. Hopefully the transition area won't show. I have temporarily assembled my speedo with the incorrect fonts. This was just the lettering stuck to my own black background, but figured it was better than nothing. I have attatched a picture. WITH the 80 in the right direction. I'll let everyone know how it comes out. Hope the guy can do it!
  10. Does any one have a stock throttle knob, cable etc. Just about any condition will do, (except complete junk!). My B2C has one from a lawnmower!!! (really it does). Thanks
  11. These are flat with just raised edges. I'm beginning to think they are spring shackles for something, but not for this truck. I found lots of junk in the cab. Found a Cabbage Patch kid in his underwear under the seat! Maybe the truck was once a ride at Wacko Jaco's Neverland Ranch! LOL!
  12. Sounds good to me...If there are any plates etc that go ontop the springs and the pins and you dont want those I'd like those too, please............ I wish you could ship me the whole axle! LOL!!! Thanks Bob
  13. Could be shackle brackets off of God knows what. But if Reg and Merle never saw them on a pilot house, there not for one. I'm not throwing them out though, to a pack rat like me, they're keepers! Maybe muffler bearings or wiper sharpeners. Good news on the weight of my truck. GVW on the tag was 5500# I know thats a loaded weight. The state of MI says it weighs 3200#, since I was charged by weight that's good. Mine probably weighs less than that due to rust, missing parts and no box bed. I don't think I would want to carry 2300lbs in it, no matter what the condition!
