  1. Some of us are cool no matter how uncomfortable we are. My hernia truss has been chaffing for 30 years but I'm still cool as Miles Davis in December.
  2. You can get hurt pretty bad watching golden girls
  3. I was concerned about the rivets ability to seal air in. It may be the paint, 70 years of corrosion or just a nice tight fit but I didn't lose any air without tubes.
  4. I've been tire swapping recently. My car had 6.00 - 16 wide white walls when I got it, they looked nice but were toast. When I got the car reassembled I put a set of Kenda 205/70R-16s on the stock wheels without tubes. They improved the ride and handling but I didn't care for the appearance. There were no clearance issues and they seemed to work on the stock wheels without issue. After a little time and a few hundred miles with the car on the road I decided it was going to be a driver and got a set of Coker Classics in 6.00 - 16 3" white walls with tubes. The look is much improved in my opinion, the ride is back to the entertaining vintage feel. Two of the Coker Classics took a handful of weight to balance but ride nicely now. I just finished a 2000 mile trip on them and I was pleased with their performance, no wear issues as yet. The Kenda's were ~ $500 all in, the Coker's were ~$1800 Ugh! Who in their right mind would pay $425 for a single, old fashioned, out of balance, no traction tire when you can get an entire set of nicer ones for a few bucks more. All that said I've got 5 like new Kenda 205/70R-16 sitting in the garage with no home....
  5. This is a school bus and a driver. Not a great pic.
  6. Tennessee allows it, you can only use vehicle on the weekends, holidays, too and from shows and troubleshooting (I keep a few tools and a set of points in the glove box so every trip is troubleshooting...)
  7. I can tell you from first hand experience that there are a lot of parts on a 47 D24 that cant be installed backwards, but I did it
  8. my 47 has 16 x 4.5" wheels and came with 6.00x16 bias tires (black walls), I'm told a very common upgrade was to go to 6.50x16 at the first set of replacement tires
  9. its in my block as well, i searched and found mention of it but no definitive reason or purpose
  10. I did mine running, afterwards I overlooked the feelers closely and no dents or defomation that I can see.
  11. I've been kicking around the idea of taking mine apart and polishing it but feeling sorry for myself due to the number of little holes. I'm thinking about disassembling it and doing it on the bench grinder.
  12. my diff plug identifies as male so an adjustable wrench is the ticket
  13. On my recent road trip I began having intermittent float/needle & seat trouble. It would operate great for 5 min then something would stick and flood the carb. I watched it operate at idle for about 10 minutes when it suddenly squirted gas out the overflow and dashpot passage in the top of the float bowl. I did a parking lot inspection/rebuild with no luck so I swapped carbs and will take a deeper look at the offender when time permits. One thing I discovered during all this is the performance of the 2 carbs is considerably different despite being identical as far as I can tell, the one w/sticky float is much is stronger and smoother running (right up till it floods)
  14. Maybe consider changing the title of your doc to Mopar straight 6 engines?
  15. you could make a months worth of ice cubes with that grill, if you had a big freezer....
  16. This is what I used in the fluid drive of my D24 (on advice from someone here in an old thread), its got 2500 miles on it so far and no issues and correct operation. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/traveller-premium-tractor-hydraulic-fluid-2-gal-t806383?cm_vc=-10011 I haven't looed at the fluid in my B2B, if it looks like it needs changed Ill use the same.
  17. I'ma keep that offer in mind, I have a fd in my car and truck and may need it at some point. Every oil holding cavity on my car leaks so it's just a matter of time.
  18. Everything I have leaks and drips, cars too! I'm on the TN side in the hills. My folks are in your side.
  19. Hey, you old fart! What's wrong with living in the Smokey's?
  20. I've got a coffee cup under mine that holds most of what drips out overnight.
  21. The bolts that hold my seat back brackets in place run horizontal, I believe the hole a few inches from your arrow.
  22. Sorry, I am a horrible speller so I now purposely misspeel werds as a jab at muhself. I'm sure I find it a lot funnier than others do.
  23. I had not heard the werd recalcitrant before reading your post. I'm curious how you came to know it?
