  1. You're right. I hope mine turns out even close! Looks like I have some work to do before I find mine. The White Out mark on the edge of the pulley is as close to TDC as I can tell. What grit emery did you use?
  2. Thanks to all! I can't believe I can't find any trace of the timing mark. You would think at least part of the marks would be visible. I'll try cleaning the pulley a little more and look again.
  3. I'm trying to find the timing mark on the crank pully. I can find pretty close to TDC and still can't find the mark. Can anyone post a pic of the mark or at least let me know what it looks like or where on the pully it is. Is it a little line or a notch? Thanks
  4. Thanks. That's quite a bit different. The booster in the 55 FSM looks like mine but the master cylinder looks different. Kind of like someone put a regular cylinder on the booster. Not sure what the PO did or what parts are interchangeable.
  5. Getting ready to work on the brakes on my 55 Royal Lancer - 270 Super Red Ram/Power Flight. I'm pretty sure it came with power brakes but the master cylinder doesn't look like the one shown in the FSM. There was an old one in the trunk so not sure which is original. Can anyone tell me if this looks right? Thanks
  6. Thanks. That will be the first thing I look at when I get out to the garage tomorrow. I'll let you know what I figure out. One way or another it will come out.
  7. As far as I can tell and from what I was told, it is the original engine. I'll see if the cover comes off the wheel well. Other wise it shouldn't be too big a challenge to loosen the fill tube and if I'm careful I won't loose much if any tranny fluid.
  8. It is a canister and has no lid. The whole canister should come out then you remove the filter (according to FSM). I'm not sure if it will have room at wheel well to come strait off even if I do move the trans check tube. Thought an oil filter would be easy but I guess nothing is.
  9. OK, I'll post a pic tomorrow. Thanks
  10. What am I missing? Just got a 55 Royal Super Red Rem. Wanted new oil and filter before first start up. There doesn't seem to be enough room between the block, wheel well and transmission fluid check tube to get the oil filter canister out. What am I missing? Do I need to loosen the tranny fluid check tube to get it off? Thanks

    Engine Swap

I think for ease of installation/compatibility I should try to find a mid-50s Dodge 2 door roller. The problem I've had is if they are in decent shape, they are already complete. I'll keep looking. Thanks for the input

    Engine Swap

Do you know the engine/specs for 50 Windsor? From what I've seen it had what looked like a flat head 6.

    Engine Swap

The front motor mounts shouldn't be too bad. I'm also wondering about the crossmember and drive shaft.
  14. I have a 230 flat head six and Power Flight tranny out of a 55 Dodge Coronet. Will these go in a 50 Chrysler Windsor without to major of a modification? Thanks, Todd
  15. Had an interesting project come up today. A friend came accross a 1925 Chrysler, title says Model unknown but I assume it is a B-70. The frame, motor, suspension etc. has been restored and the body mostly restored. The problem is, the body is not mounted to the frame and the person who was restoring it died. All the hardware (bushings, bolts, washers, basically everything) are missing and I have no idea what it will take to mount the body to the frame. Anybody have any idea where to start on a project like this? I'm looking at it next week and figure I'll just have to figure it out. Any and all ideas welcome. Thanks, Todd Daily Drivin'
  16. "I'm overhauling a 55 Coronet and need to rebuild the front end. The service manual lists a bunch of "Special Tools" that have part numbers don't match anything. I see a lot of front end tool kits but don't know exactly which tolls I need. Any help with what tools I should have on hand when I tear into it? This is my first one and don't want to get a bunch of tools I either don't need or won't work. thanks, Todd
  17. I've been soaking to no avail. Even tried to lightly tap them back out but don't want to break anything. Wish there was some way to get them apart. I'll keep working at it. Thanks
  18. Working on a 55 Coronet. I have 2 of the outside door handle plungers stuck pushed in. Removed handle but Service Manual says nothing about how to disassemble them. Any tips on getting them broke loose? Thanks!
  19. I'm working on a 63 Dart for a turn signal switch. Looks pretty straight forward except not sure how the horn ring comes off. Does it just press and turn or are there clips to pry? Also not sure how to get the wire clips out and back in the plug.

    1955 Coronet

Thanks! The wheels are temporary. Looking for original wheels and hubcaps for wide white wall tires. Need to find someone with a supply of used parts.

    1955 Coronet

Here you go, hope the whole car cleans up as well as the left quarter did.
