  1. I'm new here and new to old trucks, so a lot of you'se guy's lingo I don't understand, so I'm sure there will be some of you laughing your ass off but I've a few questions. I'll start with what is a D2 and a Pilothouse. Now back to the subject at hand, Fran it sounds like you have spares on both sides, are the brackets that bolt to the frame the same or is there a right and left. That bracket would seem to be the most difficult part, the tube coming up from there and the plate that the spare mounts to could be fabricated, I think. Thanks for replying, Stan
  2. Thanks for the reply. I did post in trucks but I was hoping maybe you car guys would know if the bracket is the same for cars and trucks, and what years the same bracket was used. It would really be far out if someone has done this before and could offer any advice or tell me where to go. I think it would be the same for car or truck.
  3. I saw the fender well on Ebay and that's what started me thinking I could make this happen, the bigger problem is the bracket that bolts to the frame. I was hoping someone could tell me if the bracket is the same for the left and right, and for cars and trucks, and Plymouth and Dodge and what years the same bracket was used. Thank you for replying and good luck with your fender. I am going to attempt some minor body work myself but nothing like a major crease. Stan
  4. Members 0 1 post My Project Cars:1937 Plymouth truck I'm new here, I've searched and have not found any info on fender mounted spare tire. I've got a 1937 Plymouth pickup with a spare tire in the right front fender, I would like to put one in the left fender. Has this been done, I think this was an option originally, I've found a blank fender well online (I'm guessing it need modifying, how much I don't know). The biggest problem is the bracket that bolts to the frame. Is this available somewhere ? If I have to find an old one is this bracket used on other pickups or cars or years? Am I crazy for thinking this is possible?
