  1. Anyone have a source for brake parts for a 58 dodge with the rear dually ?
  2. I replaced a napa set of points with standard brand part # AL 4556P and it fixed my problem . The spring was very weak on the Napa brand .
  3. Anyone have a source for brake parts for a 1958 dodge D400 ?
  4. Thanks to all who replied . I had installed a new set of points from napa . After replacing with a set from KOI auto parts standard brand part # AL 4556P,,she runs great. I had no way of measuring the spring pressure however when I took the new ones out of the box I noticed by feel they had twice the pressure . now on to the brakes ..
  5. so I have installed new plugs ,wires , points ,condenser , coil ,fuel pump , rebuilt carb , replaced cracked exhaust manifold . shes firing on all cylinders . Has right at 118 pounds pressure on all cylinders . I have moved timing all ways possible .set at factory spec now . she starts right up and idles fine. But at im guessing 1000 rpm plus misses bad .if you continue to give her fuel she will start to backfire and stumble bad. I thought she might be starving for fuel so I tried dumping some in to see if she would clear out, but that didn't help. no intake leaks either . Im out of ideas . I bought the truck long distance and the guy said it ran great . ive dumped another 800. 00 or so plus my time and still runs bad . If broken valve spring or something would compression still be good ? Any ideas will be appreciated
  6. I have a 1958 dodge 400 .. replaced plugs wires point condenser , rebuilt carb etc, set timing .. ran great at Idle but faltered bad at im guessing about 100 rpm plus . someone told me maybe broken or stuck valve spring . firing on all cylinders .compression on all cyl. right at 120 lbs, took the exhaust manifold off and discovered a large hole and several cracks in it. Im hoping this is the problem . bought a new used manifold . went to install it, but gasket set doesn't fit . Fel pro Part # MS 8009 B all the local parts store say this is the right part but its not . Anyone know of correct part # ?? Also Im not sure which motor this is . 251 ?? thanks in advance for any help
