  1. Greg, I wouldn't use the vinegar with the electricity.... the possibility of noxious fumes is quite a bit greater and more dangerous with an acid (even though it is weak), and the principle of electrolytic derusting is actually the transfer of electrons from your scrap metal to your part and the soda is just a current carrying solution...... if you want to do anything with your vinegar to help out.... heat it........ any acid or base solultion works better at higher temperatures.... a caustic or acidic solution at 180 F works wonders.... it "activates" the solution.... Allan
  2. I vote for molson dry myself..... or Candian, cause I am Canadian!!!!!
  3. Probably a small "programming" feat.... ie 2 bids in last second, next higher bid amount not reached, however, you still bid "officially" higher than your opponent..... Imagine what you might have said if you lost, even though you bid 0.01 cent higher.... because in reality, you didn't lose..... Allan
  4. I love the planes of WWII..... The only computer game I played regularly was Air Warrior, (which had the most realistic versions of the planes of WWII) and my favorites to fly were the Jug, P-38J and ME-109G in the European theater, and the Hellcat and the Zero in the Pacific theater.... there were some actual pilots and relatives of others flying online at the time... supposedly handled quite like the originals (without the reality of the blackouts and redouts....) Allan
  5. Thanx Bob, and I hope everyone enjoys it..... Allan
  6. Its been sent Bob, Thanx and my apologies for the website problems... (I gotta figger out what is wrong...) Allan
  7. I just retried all 3 usernames and passwords, and everything works.... and tried from the link in the previous message and it works fine.... when I did get a dead page once, I did a refresh and the username/password window popped up... Allan
  8. I could just imagine the seniority battles that flamed truck brings to whatever UPS depot its in.... Allan
  9. Hi, I sent the truck calander to GTK, but until he posts it in a downloads folder, I put up my "file server" so that those who want to download it can.... If you wish to give thanx, then send in a donation to Gerald in my name to keep this great forum going. To download it, go to the following site; http://142.217.86.36:3550/ user name pilot pw house1 username pilot2 pw house2 username pilot3 pw house3 This way, at least 3 people can download at a time, so there will be less of a wait (I haven't tried to see if people download the same file if it will or will not work, so bear with me if it doesn't). Allan
  10. Got em.... thanx... And thanx Ken for the startup of the pic thread.... Allan
  11. Thanx all for the compliments, glad everyon likes it..... once I get more pics for the "diamonds in the rough" and the pilot house calanders, I'll have GTK post them..... just waiting on some nice pics.... As long as its enjoyable for everyone to see and have, I'm happy..... Allan
  12. Welcome aboard, and thanx for the compliments on the calander..... if you can send me a high res pic via email, yours just might make it in for the next edition...... Nice car.... (I love blue...) Allan
  13. Darn winter weather.... I gotta wait until next spring until I can work on mine..... oh well, I'll build my rotisserie this winter and then I'll have fun (with everyone showing me the way to do it right..... )
  14. Hi all, Just wanted to see if people would want to send me an email to afaust@lino.sympatico.ca with a high res pic of your truck for possible inclusion into a 2007 truck calander.... if you visit the sister page, I've got a calander done for the others that you can download and have a look at.... In essence, whether yours is a done deal, or a work in progress, send me a pic showing the whole vehicle.... I'm in the process of trying to do a "diamond in the rough" calander as well, which will show "works in progress.... Also, just another couple of notes... my goal is to help out here, and I don't want to insult or injure if one of your pics isn't included (it may be included next year.... or give ya time to get a pic to me by next year), and if you decide to use the calander, if you're willing to make a donation to the forum on my behalf, it would be appreciated.... I love this site and want to help out keeping it alive as much as I can.... Allan
  15. That is exactly what I wanted to do today, pop in a message to have em send me a high end pic via email... just haven't got a round tuit yet..... my mom had one, but I don't yet.... Allan
  16. Tim, put your glasses on (and send me a pic) and read the first paragraph again of the comment I made (send me a pic) just above yours....(send me a pic) and once you re-read that first paragraph.... send me a pic... (get the hint????) Allan
  17. Ok, Just to stem any rumors... I'm not psychic..... just luck of the draw.... Second, if people would like to send me some other hi res pics of their ride for "future" editions (via email) you may do so... also I want to do a second calander (that I call diamonds in the rough), but I need some hi res pics of "works in progress" that show the whole car.... and I'll ship it to GTK once its done... As for printing, any color printer will do.... As for the pictures, I tried to use different peoples cars than last year (at least different pics) but I wanted to make sure I had some hi res pics to use for it (sometimes I wanted a pic, but it wouldn't show up well stretched to the size I needed). And for one car in particular, I do have to admit that Pete is an incredible photographer in my opinion... his pics just blow me away... the car, the scenery, the style....(can't wait to get my 50 done... and get my photographer wife to take pics... I can't do it worth squat). I didn't want to insult anyone by including or not including your car, because they are all fine cars, and you are all fine friends...... but I'd rather have a calander of my friends cars on my wall than all the other ones produced out there... it makes me feel special. And at the same time, if any donations are given to the site because of it, it helps my "second home" stay around longer... and I'm happy.... happy holidays to all.. Allan
  18. Talking about the town since the "lockout" of the mill where I work... It is in French, but you can still get an idea of where I worked, and where I live.... Allan
  19. And Don, As for the second part of the question, with the "snug" fit... the old MC definitely looks snug, which is why I asked if it was pressed in.... getting it back out is the problem.... and I didn't want to pound on it if it had to be pressed out.... Allan
  20. Thx Don, I PM'd you the addy... along with another bit of info. Allan
  21. Ok, now if you look closely I've wheeled the MC pin that was all rusted, etc.... I still have to torch it to loosen the threads, etc.... however, from memory (bad or good) and previous discussions, I'm wondering if the pitting on the pin will cause a problem with its use, because I thought it was supposed to be completely smooth to work properly... can anyone tell me if it would be ok this way? Also, when looking at the large hole on the top end of the MC, where the pedal fits in with the grease fittings and clips on either side, is this pressed in using a hydraulic press? The reason why I asked is because I removed one of the clips on the old MC and it looks almost as if there is no seam for the pedal attachment to come out of.... any ideas on this? Allan
  22. Who are the 2 that have the taxicabs, and could you post a pic of em??? I believe one was yellow, the other white... Allan
  23. Kinda looks like mine last year....
