  1. I got mine from a canadian seller on ebay... don't know if they are of better or worse or tougher material than those I had.... let you know in about 10 years when I get my car on the road.... Allan
  2. What's wrong with comin' up to Canada... great place this is..... eh!!! Allan
  3. Could be an ididit column as well, they have that specific model... and bracket to boot.... Allan
  4. Watch the movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective for your answer to that Tim.... It gets answered there..... actually you can watch that exact part... here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_duX8wcXN4 Allan
  5. I agree with Don on that.... its the seller's fault... if you aren't going to pay for the insurance, don't offer it.... period.... what happened to the old adage of "the customer is always right"....??? (within limits of course, and to me, this is definitely within limits....) Allan
  6. My D36 engine is now re-machined, and will be returning in its original spot.... Allan
  7. I understand ya Don.... Geez, sometimes I wish I didn't.... makes me look like a nutcase Nice lookin' cars and panel though.... Allan
  8. Gorgeous job.... I hope I can do as well with mine when I get to that point..... just gorgeous... Allan
  9. Now now Don, just because you were called a shade tree mechanic, is that any way to talk to our new guests??? Welcome aboard wallace, and pull up a chair, tell us where you are from, and let us know a bit more about yourself.... and your car..... Allan
  10. Greg, I agree with both you and Bob..... and I apologize to the human members of the POC for my outburst..... especially GTK!!! Allan
  11. Thanx Guys.... after so long with this bull scat up here, I can't wait to do something different.... Allan
  12. I looked Don, but it seems they all went to NY state on vacation.... hmm... maybe....
  13. Norm.... not much work at all, specially considering that I am in the woods..... Allan
  14. And Don.... if it'll make you feel any better, I'd take your shade tree engineering anyday over any rebuilding that them at the POC do.... from the looks of it, their cars are probably a lot more dangerous than ones modified the right way.... Allan
  15. Duh.... sorry bout that guys, didn't see the forum right below the login.... and the site is backwards.... looked for the question before I finally saw it at the bottom of the thread..... I hope 34PE is onboard here so I can welcome him aboard.... as for Jim B and Carla.... I think the biggest fool is one that turns away people without even getting to know them.... they don't give the person a chance to say anything, so they don't even deserve to be even close to a club, let alone lead one.... Jaguar engine??? Kinmont brakes.... now she seems to know something about fads..... probably one o them hippies of the sixties....however, I think her attitude needs more of an adjustment.... I don't know if she's running on all gears.... Allan
  16. Nope, gotta be the suit..... girls go crazy for a sharp dressed man.... Allan
  17. One of the best metalworking tools you can find is a good ol' tree stump.... take off the bark, and create the curves you want on different areas of the wood.... use it to keep your body lines straight... Allan
  18. Any way anyone can post what was written... can't logon to the board there.... dunno if I want to register... Allan
  19. Me too.... my vote is definitely for the local job.... however, the backup plan is still nice.... Allan
  20. If ur looking for family.... its right here.... I wanted to join the POC, but with their rule book seemingly stuck up their wazoo.... they can take their membership with them.... anyways, I got a dodge... plymouth body, but a dodge nonetheless.... so I can't be a plymouth owner.... Allan
  21. I'm working on mine when I have time, and using a sawhorse to hold the panel as I work..... Allan
  22. The gasket has an extra "hole" or "hump along one side.... just make sure it fits on the right way..... that is where some make an error, and it just avoids a replacement.... Kanter, Vintage Power Wagons (I think they may be less expensive there if I remember correctly), the bay, are all places where you can find them... Allan
  23. That is a nice looking truck...... welcome aboard..... tell us more about yourself and the truck.... serial #'s etc.... where you from....?? Allan
  24. Those are the right parts Johnny, except maybe the rod bearings.... it all depends on if they need to be worked or not, because in the auction, they are 0.010 oversize, meaning they are for journals that have been shaved a bit.... if there is no scoring, etc on your crank and it doesn't need to be machined, you'd need regular size bearings.... The gasket kit is the right one, though... you've got the right one for the 25" engine..... when installing it, make sure the water hump is in the right place. Allan
  25. Well, there are advantages to both jobs.... one, being in my home town.... well, most of my family is there.... municipality, government, stability, etc.... the other, on the road, meeting people, travelling to new places (I was told michigan, oregon, texas, etc as some destinations) and (possibly meeting forum members), moving down to ottawa (closer to greg/shel/etc) all have their good points..... Both pay approximately the same salary..... we'll see..... one way or another, this fall should see some changes.... Allan
