Yep, almost the exact system. Didn't know the rail industry played with that set up. We also had a grease-jockey that would lube the grease zerks running down the road. You can only imagine the mess that one made. Ah Yes, the good old days. (I'd love to go back.)

Another factor is the quality of fuel your using. Over the years we had trucks that actually added oil from the crankcase into the fuel system. Oil from a supply reservoir on the back of the cab was then added to the motor. That made-em smoke. That experiment in futility thankfully didn't last too long. Ruan Trucking was a pioneer in that endeavor. The new diesel pulling trucks with their onboard computers have a "chip" that makes them smoke like a fiend. Cool but not practical. I like a lot of smoke but I'm just an old diesel-dummy. Cheers.

Great find! Sadly our 48 sedan is for sale but I would sure like to have an old truck for a daily driver. We keep the 52 M37 strictly for parades and shows.

You should be very proud of such a "Classic Treasure".

Hey vikingminer49er Interesting fire suppression system & I love the "troop seats"! The "toter" is a 1994 IH. Not sure when the conversion was done? DT466 inline 6 cyl with 6 speed direct tranny. Having "taller" rear gears installed and trying to find an aftermarket cruise control. No need for speed, just trying to lower the RPM's at cruising speed. Diesel generator, bathroom, etc. Sold my 2000 Ford F350 dually and bought this rig last year. Flew out to Colorado Springs and drove it home to Southeast Iowa. My Lori has limited mobility so I built a chair-lift to lift her into the rig. We take the M37 to parades and Military vehicle dis[plays. This rig lets my Lori ride in comfort. I miss my dually but this rig is more used friendly. Yes, sometimes I pull a trailer behind the trailer!!!

Hello Folks. Took our 1952 Dodge M37 to her first Christmas parade this year. It was a last-minute thing but we had a lot of fun.

PS: We plan on keeping our 1952 Dodge M37 even though the decision has been made to sell our Plymouth. With our failing health it's a bit harder to keep everything in tip-top- shape! Just a small downsizing.

Hey Guys! Thank you for the kind words. We will not completely disappear, just down shift and change direction. I plan on keeping our 1952 Dodge M37 and will continue to take it to parades, Military events and displays. Sadly selling the Plymouth is also a bit of a financial decision. Lost our Family vehicle in an accident and need a newer replacement. The "48" will sell. We will get a new car. We will climb this hill and coast down the other side! Cheers. Tim & Lori.
