  1. I paid $175 last week for left and right windshield pieces. Now shopping for rope.
  2. C'mon guys, has anybody seen the interior. It could have diamond pleated upholstery.that ties it all together ?
  3. Impressive. You may inspire me. I'd agree with you on the side pieces.
  4. That kid will come in handy down the road. I use my boy for the upside down and underneath something jobs. He's 25 now - time flies! I know you'll enjoy every minute of fatherhood. Well, maybe not "every" minute, but a lot of minutes for sure and especially those minutes when your right side up watching work get done on the truck!
  5. Wow, thanks for posting this. Brought a tear to my eye.
  6. Let me know when you are coming through Fort Collins Colorado!
  7. Interesting. Here in Colorado I was told; because my plate was not in their database I couldn't use it. Perhaps I should try a different office or start scrounging up differen't '50's plates?!
  8. That looks pretty nice. I may add that to my collection of seat upholstery photos I've been collecting in my idea book.
  9. You'll get smoother shifts if you double clutch the up shifts too. Crazy, I know!
  10. I like that you found hay bales to match the wheels. Great looking truck.
  11. Photo: Randi Scott. A retired photographer who helps aspiring models build portfolios for agencies magazines... Flickr Bio: https://www.flickr.com/people/random_shootings/
  12. Is that knockout for the radio support bracket and bolt?
  13. Love those wine casks. While touring the New Belgium brewery I saw a whiskey barrel converted to a bar. Curious what you might end up doing ?
  14. @kiethb7, photos are belly up over here
  15. LOL - I almost fell out of my chair laughing. I'm headed over to Lowes this weekend. Thanks for a great idea!
  16. I used Speedway Motors for my '50. Not sure about '48.
  17. You're probably not going to need that spare tire carrier on the side - how about shipping it to Colorado?!
  18. A friend and client Lee Peterson photographed this scene back in '62 at Ocean Beach. Where are these young men today I wonder?
  19. I drove fuel trucks for Uncle Sam back in '70. Had to learn double clutching to survive. But it still took me months to get the hang of it. Adding the tach helped find the perfect shift point for the given speed, but really I find there are just a couple situations that repeat over and over, the third gear low speed corner and down shifting to third at 20-30 mph. Have fun and be sure to change your gear oil after you quit grinding gears. I discovered this winter when it is single digits the 4 speed shifts like it has synchros! ...until it warms up.
  20. Naw, diamond plate there? I'm old school (but not as old as Paul ?).
