i bought a tank from vintage american auto parts it was spot on fit and it did have a small scratch when i got it, i emailed the vendor and he said he would ship a new out asap, it arrived 2 days later!

i agree 100% JUST BE HAPPY SOMEONE LAID OUT THE MONEY TO MAKE SOME PARTS THAT WERENT AVAILABLE THEY LOOK GREAT ON MY CAR AND GREAT IN THE PICTURE.... -walter

people say dont deal with him hes hard to work with and a scammer, i was going to buy some parts but i backed away once i heard that.

i have bought many parts from that vendor including two fuel tanks (53 dodge, and 46 plymouth sedan) the tanks are excellent reproductions. i also bought a set of chrome trims from the ny vendor for $134.00 on ebay second chance offer deal, and they fit like a glove........ i do not see how there could be an issue its 4 bolts? I saw no problem with fit and finish given they were inexpensive is meaningless. -Walter

HIS FEEDBACK IS AMAZING AND HES A POWER SELLER! HE INVESTS ALOT OF TIME AND MONEY TO MAKE PRODUCTS NO ONE HAS GIVE HIM A BREAK, BECAUSE OF HIM MY CAR LOOKS BETTER AND DRIVES BETTER! not to mention his shipping is so fast i ordered the tank monday it arrived wednesday! he does not have the knobs on ebay yet, he said he was waiting for them to be done which should be this next coming week, he also hes been working on this for over 3 years to get it right. i bought a fuel tank from his company and fuel pump he gave me a great deal no my car runs so well.

i just bought some new repro knobs from vintage american parts co on ebay. his number is 516 233 7788 nice guy he re created the oem knobs. i attached the pic he sent me he said they were for a p15 48 plymouth but i needed something that looks similar to my 40 dodge.

why have them sleeved when brand new high quality units are avail from , kanter, vintageamerican, roberts, and others. its not that technical buy em new and youll be good. why fix old junk ! ! its a basic hydraulic system with smooth bores and new rubber your good to go. every other part that you install on your car today is from overseas, what good is it to have rebuilt cylinders with new made in china brake shoes and flex rubber hoses? buy em new and dont waiste your time , your brake shoes need to be high quality as that is what stops the car! this is coming from years experience as a hydraulic press mechanic. not to mention the when they sleeve the new units they use a chine sleeve and chinese rubber since that is all that is available. NO PARTS ARE MADE IN THIS COUNTRY ANYMORE! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nos is far superior to the new units being made today bottom line hence the price other vendors sell the nos ones for about 20.00 dollars and to not wreck a motor its worth the coin in my humble opnion.

why take a chance with worn out cylinders that have probably been rebuilt 10 times. buy new cylinders its the most important part of your cars mechanics!

Gates doesn’t make anything all they do is buy products from other people and put it in their box. That water pump is made by a company in-china then they distributed to everybodyMost of the supplies you buy for your car made by companies and then the big company just put it in there box.

I ordered a tank from vintage spoke to them was at my door in 2 days what a nice tank it was. The salesman told me that 53 tanks are in production and so are 55 tanks.
