  1. Do these fit a 1940 business coupe?
  2. Thank you for the replies. Mr. Adams would you have any photographs of what you're talkin about as far as the top of the fender mounted signals? And I do like your idea as well Greg. Just weighing my options right now but thanks again
  3. Ok ladies and gents, Looking for ideas as to what to use for turn signal lights on my 40 business coupe. I don't have any on mine and have already wired the rear and now want to find something that looks somewhat period correct, somewhat, not exactly for the front....So please let me know what YOU used and how you installed them. Pics would be great here as well. Thanks
  4. Thank ALL of you for your replies. I did as Plymouthy Adams said. I will let you all know how it turns out. Again THANK YOU,
  5. Thanks for replying Greg. My sending unit is a 2 terminal.
  6. I'm in the middle of 12 volt conversion on my 40 P9 and am stuck at the fuel gage wiring. I have installed the 12 to 6 volt runtz, from 5th Ave Garage, on the IGN SW terminal and ran the ignition feed wire to it. For those who have already done this conversion, how do I wire from Fuel Gauge Poles 1 & 2 to the Sending unit(Both original). My kit only has 2 wires for Fuel Gage. 1 wire goes to the gage and the other wire to the sender. I could use some help here. Thanks in advance. My gage is exactly like the picture attatched.

  8. Thanks for answering pflaming.
  9. Hi DJ, Yes I am switching over to 12 volt negative ground. But my original question was what wires go to the starter besides the battery cable for this conversion? As for the pictures I have to resize before I can attach them here but rest assured I will get some up soon. Thanks for your reply Jesse
  10. Hi everyone, I'm converting my 1940 Plymouth P9 to 12 volt and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to wire the starter since it's the foot push type. I don't really want to change out the starter and I'm sure someone has used their foot pedal type starter in a 12 volt system somewhere. In case anyone is wondering why I'm converting it is because the original harness was to frayed and brittle for me to try to repair and an original replacement was not in my budget. The kit I am using I have installed on a 49 Chevy prior to this but chevys have a solenoid on their starters. Thanks for your help.
  11. I was wondering where you bought your 12 volt basic wiring kit and also your 2nd one as well. I assume you did a 12 volt conversion. I am debating on converting my 40 business coupe to 12 volts as some of the original wiring is becoming frayed and brittle and I find myself having more and more electrical shorts than I care for. I've used a speedway 22 circuit kit before when I wired my 49 chevy fleetline and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and in the end everything worked out great.

    Thanks for your time

Hey, I actually built both of mine from scratch, I knew there wasn’t going to be an easy kit for my truck with all the additions I did last time.  The first time I just copied the basic wire diagram on the site and switch everything that needed to be 12volt. Sorry I can’t be more help with aftermarket

No worries thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.

  12. Where did you get your basic 12 volt kit and which kit did use use the second time?
  13. That's Great. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you....
  14. Would anyone know if the original 30A fuse is longer than what is sold today? The fuse I removed(Blown) was about 1 3/8 inch long and the replacement is only 1 3/16 inch long.
  15. What are your thoughts on the Master Brake rebuild kits that are sold on ebay? Good, No good, crap OR decent, doable or ok? What are your recommendations on what vendor is reputable to get this stuff?I'm getting ready to rebuild the entire brake system and would prefer to buy new brake parts rather than to rebuild anything as the car had been sitting for years and most of the brake system is old and shot. Thanks for your time and input. Jesse
