  1. well, I pulled that wire out of the steering column again...removed the electrical tape I just put on it last week, put two lengths of shrink wrap on it and wa la..after I put everything back together..damn thing is working as it should..THANK YOU so much Don..I so value your input and knowledge..now, the fuel gage..lol
  2. First off..I do hope you are doing well, 2nd...I've chased this ground spot/wire all over this car and cannot find where it's grounding and the tooter toots as soon as I turn on the switch..steering column wire was good but I still taped it around bottom, the insulation on the wires close to the horns just crumbled so, I taped all those..actually... a LOT of the wires on this car has insulation that just crumbles..most I've taped or made sure they are not touching anyting...any clues on what I"m missing..? Thanks in advance..

  6. newbie here trying to get my clutch fixed...I had a very reputable shop rebuild my transmission and it's great..while it was down I had him to also go ahead and install all new clutch parts and like a few I've read on here, the clutch pedel is about 3" or so off the floor and not back to the top where it belongs..I showed him the commets about cutting the rod (6-24-1) but he's not into making up parts to get it to work..he's searching for the correct parts to make it right..two questions..is there another or correct part that needs to be changed in order to get the clutch pedal back to the top? and if not approx what length did you add to the part Rod 6-24-1 to get the pedal back to the top ? my mechanic is on the search for the correct parts..I'm looking for answers too..thanks in advance, ..Ron
