  1. Welcome home all Vietnam Veterans and thanks for your service. Don Coatney, US Army Vietnam Veteran 1966-1968

  2. When I was in the Army in the '80s, there were still a good number of Vietnam veterans still in service in the senior NCO and officer ranks. We tended to listen to them more often than the other leadership. A few had a couple of loose screws, but all of them knew what they were doing, and more importantly, why. I'm not talking the nebulous reasons for a war, but how to get the job done and stay more or less in one piece during one. When we went to Grenada my platoon had one of the very, very few Vietnam vets as its platoon sergeant / leader (no Lt.). That was just a bar-fight compared to other conflicts, but we had a few scraps that the SFC saw us through with just a few scratches. When I joined the Border Patrol, just under half the organization were Vietnam vets (total BP number was 3k at the time), those guys were a hoot to learn from and work with. That video is a good reminder that the U.S. wasn't the only nation fighting for democracy in Vietnam, we just had the largest presence, thanks for posting. And thanks to all the Vietnam vets out there - for many reasons. Glad you'uns made it home, just wish there had been more that did.

  4. @knuckleharley I paid about $550 US total for all 4 rims. Worth the investment in my opinion. I feel that the wire wheels bring the class up a notch or two. They were used of course. Not perfect but just right for my “driver” old car. This Chrysler has been very good to me. For every $1 and every hour I put in, is repays me ten-fold in both satisfaction and pleasure. It’s been a great experience for me in my “First Classic Car” venture. This car has me...Hook-line-and sinker. I look forward to the family cruises this coming season.

  5. My thanks and gratitude for all of you who served. My brother-in-law served and suffered PTSD. Human beings aren't supposed to be put in the midst of that type of horror.

  6. Re the brake lines, you maybe best to replace the front ones at least to suit the discs which would probably be 3/16th whereas the original brake lines front & rear would be 1/4" and may pose a problem getting them to fit either the master cylinder or front brake hose ..........and you may have to use an adaptor if you still have the stock rear brakes as again, they have the 1/4 " line going to them...........so maybe a 3/16th line going back from the master cylinder to an adaptor that the 1/4 line screws into...........but I maybe wrong.......lol..........andyd

  8. AM = Ammeter, which would have been battery power in. Your Red Ignition Power wire (Batt.) would go there. GA = Gauges, which is your accessory power for the gauges and etc. Whichever wires would go to the Acc. terminal would go to GA. RAD = I'm not sure what that stands for. They usually say COIL. But I believe that would be your coil wire (Pink?), and would be the same as the Ign. on the new switch. The St. that says to go to the Neutral Safety Switch would go to your Start Button. The other side of the Start Button would need to be wired to AM, or RAD, to give it power.

  9. I presume neutral safety switch has 2 terminals. Remove Pink lead from fuse panel and key switch and connect to coil. Connect purple from neutral switch to IGN on key switch 31. When key is turned, hot will run via neutral switch and power coil only when in neutral.

  10. As PA stated, the 1/8 is not actual size. It is 1/8 pipe, which is lot bigger that 1/8" at .405in OD.

  11. Your Dodge has the standard shifting 3 speed with the typical Fluid Drive coupling. Shift it like any other 3 speed car..... yes you can leave the clutch out with it in gear at stops... Some people do this taking off from stops in 2nd gear then shift into high..

  12. Some more progress here... I have a little more loose ends to wrap up for the front end and then can finally move onto what I was originally intending to work on which was the disc brake conversion.. LOL But all in all, I am finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel.. Well at least for the front end suspension.. Happy New Years everyone!

  13. You asked for some more pics of the 41 Plymouth, I have some interior shots and engine bay, the car was an older restoration when I bought it tho' it needed some tidying up, I had the seat rebuilt so you didn't look thru the steering wheel tho' the upholstery was fine, I added a couple of dash knobs, the tacho & blinker switch, also added the Fulton Visor and added the Beehive Oil Filter, HEI dissy and generally tidied up the engine bay, tho' it still needed work ........if I had of kept it a twin carbed, finned headed 230 with a T5 gearbox was planned..........also note that it has the folding rear seats, it was an ASC or Auxillary Seat Coupe from the factory tho' as a factory RHD export car assembled in South Africa it must have been a fairly rare car as well..........gee I was a goose to sell it...........lol........still got the 40 Dodge 4Dr sedan tho' but I suppose you want pics of the coupe so here goes........lol.........regards, andyd
