  1. Here is the modified a.t.v. frame painted to match the truck's color. The legs were moved outward for space for a larger drawer. The earlier holes are seen plugged but not yet varnished. The skateboard wheels allow the setback to fold flat. The trunk is really a lockable drawer. I made certain that the setback didn't interfere with the rear window radius. That established o.a. height. All the finishes carry over from the cab interior. Just when I think the job's done, I'm reminded of what a fellow prison inmate, dude's name was Martha by the way, screamed at everyone on my cellblock, "ACCESSORIZE, BITCHES!"

  2. Rather than reposting all this, I will just post my link to the HAMB. I really appreciate the help I received from you guys! https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/finished-my-41-plymouth.1140466/#post-12963394

  3. No pic yet. Still working on getting garage ready for starting on the project. Need to build shed in backyard for large tool storage rarely used.

  4. There should be a felt like sea/gasket there with little metal push pins...... Can't see how welding 'em up would hurt other than allowing for future metal on metal contact from cowl and hood not having a spacer. Maybe something like this to fill the holes and create a gap, if a good size can be found? https://www.amazon.com/Glove-Door-Bumper-Stoppers-Rubber/dp/B01N7OE5ZB/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1550785723&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=glove+box+bumper&psc=1

  5. I noticed with the current location of my stomper, my size 12 boots found the stomper to be in a comfy spot, so I planned to move it closer to the firewall, but keeping it under the floor pan like it currently is. Cleaner wiring IMHO.

  6. I have the same configuration in my truck; 3.55s and 215/85R16, 4 speed. It's a dog out of the hole, plain and simple. I have a T5 rebuilt and ready to go in when the weather improves around here. I went with the 4.03 first gear trans as that makes the 3.55/30" tire combo gearing nearly identical to OEM 4.10/original tires at the bottom end. I think the other big gain potential is an extra gear split in there. Manual trannies from the 70s and back usually have big RPM drops between shifts. The 218 doesn't have the mojo to make up for it while driving in modern traffic. At least in my opinion. I'm not even opposed to dropping the axles down to 4.10 after the trans swap if it still seems a little doggy while rowing through the gears. I once had a 2.5L Jeep Wrangler with similar trans ratios to the T5, 4.88s and 33s. It was fantastic around town and only buzzed a little high at speeds of 70 and above. Speeds a lifted Jeep (or 50s truck) shouldn't be driven at anyway...

  7. Yup, plenty of differing displacements as well as the 23" vs the 25" lengths. Add a little confusion with a couple of the same displacements in both... This is a reasonably complete listing: http://www.t137.com/registry/help/otherengines/otherengines.php If you choose to install a 25" engine in your car you will need to talk with Don Coatney.

  8. Lots of people do that. But, it is in direct contrast to the shop manuals' procedure. Clean and dry with nothing to promote ease of movement. The tight fit is to retard rotation. The lube puts all the load on the key instead of the taper fit.

  9. Fancy looking soft tail. My personal preference is the split tail.?

  14. I have a 3.55 in my B-3-C with a later 230. Would not go any higher ratio than that. It is fine for the freeway but when there are hills it could use a T5 with a better spread. There are Cherokee rear ends out there with 3.73 ratio that would probably work perfect for your truck. Just my opinion. Jeff

  15. This works well for me, no oil loss or fumes... Cut the tube off, flip it upside down and seal it to the block with an o-ring.

  18. I used the link over to the HAMB and your car looks amazing. Super interior and detail all over. The front DeSoto bumper really accentuates the front of the Plymouth. I am looking for the trim that runs down the side of the hood and body line if you have any leads on where to find some.

  19. Just about out of that luxury item called 'space'. I had to go to shorter valve stems and a plate in lieu of of a dish style hubcap to squeeze this into my garage! No complaints until I knock something over tho.

  20. If your car has the Canadian engine and want premade you will have to look for the long block dual intake. Any units manufactured for the Chrysler blocks should work.

  21. Yes there are multiple dual carb intakes available mostly for the 23 inch block. As far as I know there are only a couple that are available as NEW intakes that being Offenhauser, Edgy manifold now sold by Mopar Montana and AoK. There are also vintage units out there from Thickston, Edmunds, Ellis and others that show up on EBay from time to time. Just depends on when you want it and how much you want to spend.

  22. I enjoyed making my own and it was a fun project. Made better power, better driveability, better mileage. The acceleration from about 2000-3500 RPM was the biggest improvement. It made me very happy with my "too tall" rear axle gears I was once planning to change out. I have no dyno results but I did a before and after run up the same hill starting at the same speed and there was a significant difference. 55 is correct about dual carbs providing better fuel distribution on this engine.

  23. walked about a yunk yard today that is closing up forever....he has to sell to public or for scrap by x drop dead date or all is lost...sad part is the guy is not motivated at all and will lose it in a short time. While predominately 70's stuff, lots of Dodge trucks...his father left all this to him and he himself was a Dodge man...man does not know a BB from a BB...where one is a Daisy ammo
