  1. Hope everyone and their loved ones have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you are traveling to family and or friends please drive safe and arrive back home safe and sound. Hope everyone arrives with Bells on. This is an old saying that refers back to when in the winter time you would use a horse a sleigh to gets to your destination. If and when you got stuck in the snow the people that helped you get out of being stuck you would give them one of the sleigh bells that were attached to the horse as a way of saying thank you. So if you made the entire round trip will the bells still on your horse then you had no issues, So then you arrived with Bells on your sleigh. The bells were also used to warn other people on the road or going through the forest that a sleigh was approaching, so sort of our horn on our old cars. Since I live near Valley Forge PA I am thankful for all of the people that had stayed with General Washington at valley Forge during the winter encampment to help gain our Freedom and to form the Great United States of America. Least we forget about these strong willed men and boys that stood up to get this Great nation started and also to our current men and women that are serving in our Armed Forces to still support our freedom and to protect our great country. If you know of any family that might have a person serving please tell the family that you thank them and their family member for their support. Rich Hartung Valley forge, PA Desoto1939@aol.com

  4. Not having much luck with the search engine, so I'm just going to ask. I've added a 1950 Dodge one ton Pilothouse to my little Dodge collection. Its in super good condition, so I'm one lucky guy. It runs and drives as it should now that I have almost mastered double clutching. However, it has split rims and I know of only one place in Oklahoma that still services those and its a bit of a drive. I would like to put factory sized radials on it as the bias are hard as a rock. Is it possible to find more modern wheels that look like the originals?

  6. Christmas Eve: On the way home my daughter wanted to drive. She's 13 and has not driven any car yet. Why not start with the Meadowbrook? She did pretty good. I sat next to her to help with the controls. She drove it three miles home! ?

  7. Gunsmithing. Here a Ruger blackhawk fitted with an 1860 colt tiffany grip including converting the colt trigger guard from flat to coil springs. The brass was a porus casting so not suitable for plating, but lends a look of age to the entire project. And a vaquero fitted with a brass insert front sight, 1860 colt trigger guard and back strap, and colt one piece walnut grip including all the spring conversion, satin rust blue and faux case colors, also lending the look of well cared for yet old..

  15. I have been bitten several times over the years with factory "orginal" hardware vs the hardware that came on an old vehicle. Previous owner changes over the years with a 60+ year old vehicle are very possible.

  18. You most likely won't find them new. if it were a Chebby or a Furd you could have the parts in an hour.

  22. Hello All, I have been a registered member here for a while but mostly lurk and/or search older posts for information. I thought I would finally contribute a little bit to the forum by posting a photo of my truck hauling our Christmas tree this year. Everyone like pictures of old Dodge trucks, right?

  23. they are the Stockton series 24 Power wagon 16" rims. They built them, the original rims are a 6" offset, these are 4" backspace, the tire shop mounted 215's but I thought the 235/85's looked better even though the front clearance is a little tight. But after driving it has never touched the sheet metal. I will post some better/closer pictures this afternoon.
