  1. Ok so maybe I have a bit of an addiction compared to you guys...lol the one with the couches is the actual man cave on the mezzanine in the shop, and yes...fridge and 50” tv LOL. If I had put in a bathroom I could live out there when I’m in trouble in the house!

  3. I see what y’all are saying so has anyone that is running this setup had any failures or noticed any damage from removing the crossmember to run the mustang tank setup. Just wanting feedback before I remove it and order my tank. Thanks

  4. You could look at it in another way. When the time comes for having to sell off the collection there becomes more cars and parts on the market which in turn could help extend the hobby for the fortunate ones that buy them.

  5. realistically I am in the same boat....but I flat out like the particular makes and models I currently own and enjoy having them at the house and am having fun. My kids and grandkids will have a good time with them I am sure....if not, they should have cleaned their room when I told them...payback time!!

  7. Great pictures of both the Memorial and your car.My Father was in the Corp of Engineers in France for sure and maybe Germany as well. He also did not talk much about the war unless he had had a few beers then he might tell a story or two. As a young boy I hung on every word.

  8. What a week this is. Spent yesterday with the Montana Dodge Boys at their Speedweek party, then today caravaned with them to the salt. Tomorrow starts the next level of fun. Firing them up, cars running for records. How's this for a young boy's start. The engine builder's son turned 15 about a week ago. Got his driver's license last week. He makes the first record attempt run in the Fast Four car! Holy cow, at 15 I was lucky if I could ride a moped in the yard! I did bring my 24 Dodge Brothers roadster to drive to the various pits. Figured I'd have more credibility than if I showed up in a Prius! a few pictures of the parking at the party.

  11. I wouldn't remove the rearmost cross member. It's behind the rear shackles for support, and it does offer some protection to the tank.

  14. I understood them to the point where starting in the 3rd grade my goal was to become a paratrooper. I even wore jump boots to elementary school. Joined the army on my 17th birthday after enlisting for a guaranteed assignment to jump school (airborne unassigned),and ended up serving 6 years in Special Forces before getting medievaced from VN while on my second tour there in 1969. No longer physically able to remain in a Special Forces or other airborne unit,I was assigned to the regular army as a babysitter (NCO) for young draftees who didn't want to be there and who spent more effort trying to avoid doing anything useful than they did actually doing anything. The regular army didn't like me any better than I liked them,so I took my discharge in 1970. It is a rare day that passes that I still don't miss being in SF,though. This is due entirely to the people I served with. Nobody had to be ordered to do anything. If someone saw something that needed to be done, they did it and didn't bitch about it. Best time of my life.

  15. Thank you for sharing this; I enjoyed your post. My uncle flew a bomber in the European theater in WWII.

  16. The rubber parts are Not available anywhere as far I I know which is why I used rubber wire grommets. As long as they fit the arms and the square? or 6 sided Pivots(which it is I forget) but does not matter as the pivots at the arm end Are the point they where they were meant to move Not at the rubbers. AS far as the retainer clips, I did not have them either. The picture of the parts I showed you was of an electric Mopar wiper parts I was given Long after I had installed the wiper setup in my 50 PLy. 4 dr.. I used a thin washer on the inside and outside of the Rubber grommets with regular E-clips from the local hardware store. 8 years later still working and NO ONE can ever see the changes without removing the wiper and arms! 17. I'll add another thing about Rock Auto. Their system keeps track of the kind of vehicle you have. Not only does this help with subsequent orders, it allows them to send you messages when they are having a close-out on items for a particular vehicle. I have been able to buy parts for my old cars for pennies on the dollar from them. They are a large company that is constantly buying up smaller outfits and incorporating the purchased inventory. A lot of times, they make an arbitrary decision that they don't want to keep a lot of old stuff in stock, so they sell it on closeout. Because most of this stuff came from existing inventories, it is almost always name brand American made stuff, not newer imported junk. When they ask if you want them to save the fact that you have say, a 1952 Dodge, let them do it. Six months down the road, you may get an email offering a gasket set for $10 or a set of $2 brake shoes. I'll never have to spend retail on any Echkin electrical parts for the rest of my life.

  18. Admittingly a goog throw - but one with a very negative side effect. My boy decided to pick-up the wiper motor, resulting in the only hex nut available becoming loose. Next on the agenda was a good throw into the garden. And now, nowhere to be found. Buggggggggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ? Not his fault. But very, very annoying. I checked the parts book. No help. Does anybody have this particular hex nut (linkage between the wiper motor and the actual linkage arrm, rests inside the bushing etc.) dimensions so I can get replacements? thanks And yes - you are all allowed to start laughing ?
