  1. A few photos from my Kodiak goat hunt. Notice that the goat is tied to the rock above and the trekking poles are holding the rear up. It was steep. This was by far the most exhaustive activity that I've ever done. After 3 days I was physically ill. Should have done it 10 years ago. The meat is the best wild game that I've ever eaten.

  2. I wanted to share a tool I made today to adjust front drum brakes. Utilizing an extra drum from a 1955??? Dodge truck, I was able to press out the wheel studs and separate the hub from the drum. Then welded a couple nuts to the hub. Drilled a square hole in a piece of steel plate and inserted a ½" carriage bolt and nut to complete the tool. It's so easy to use. 1) lay drum upside down and set the hub tool on top of the drum hub. 2) turn the bolt in or out until the inside edge of the plate is inline with the inside of the drum surface. 3) turn bolt 1/4 turn in and tighten nut to hold plate. 4) place tool on spindle (with bearings and castle nut) 5) adjust lower major adjustment bolts followed by minor adjustments. 6) rotate tool and adjust until desired clearance is achieved 7) remove tool and attach drum, check for drag, and readjust if necessary. Worked for me, hope someone can use this simple tool design to adjust their brakes, enjoy!

  3. Got the chance and put this in my 54 yesterday. I'm having trouble putting the video on here, but if you go find me on Instagram(@manifoldsbymoose) you can see it in action.

  5. Something you might try is to use a machine screw of a smaller diameter and a longer length with a nut and lock washer below. This worked for me on a carb that had one stripped out tap.

  6. And 2 days after you sell all your extras you will need them and have to buy them again at a higher price.....I told you in 2008 there are no extra parts in this hobby.

  7. Spotted this Dodge in town today and just about flipped my lid. It was the last thing I thought I might see. It was at one of the local garages. I inquired. Turns out a woman from the Twin Cities just bought it for 5K and brought it down here to Houston for maintenance because its not running right. She's friends with the local cop so that's how the truck made it here to southeastern MN. I think its a 52? Its in nice shape! I would love to have this truck in my garage!

  9. Since you are going with Coker I would suggest that you call them directly and talk with them. Since they are the ones that know their tires and the new radial style they would be better at giving you the correct answer. Be safe and a call is alot safer than relying on input from the forum members. There also might be a specific tube that is used with radials vs the old style tube that was used with bis ply tires.
