  1. It's Thanksgiving up here in Canada today. I made trip over the mountains yesterday to help my mother out and brought her back home for a few days. No I did not take my '53. I would have loved to, however its a 3.5 hour drive each way and there was heavy snow falling as we drove back to my home last night. Back here in town today Mom is now scurrying around the kitchen putting together a turkey dinner that the whole family will enjoy. I offered to take Mom for her maiden voyage in my '53 Windsor today. Off to church we went. Mom smiling, proud as a peacock as the orange leaves rustled up behind us under nice crisp fall skies. I am thankful today that Mom was able to join us. Mom needed a day like today. It's been a rocky road lately. The good news is Walter P's efforts are still paying dividends. Big smiles and great memories with the big car. Life's good.

  2. I am working on my "door stay clip" project for my b3/b4's. built a "form" and cut up a saw blade into 3/16" x 4" strips and worked on heating/ forming the metal. here is my first and second attempt although I think they would hold, I am not thrilled with my results so far. any suggestions for a different metal I should use?

  3. I'm a believer keeping them stock, but first getting them in top mechanical condition so they are safe on the road. I'm looking forward to input from other club members.

  4. Looks Great! And yet another way to accomplish a woodgrain finish on metal.

  5. Oh Mom's been on my Harley DJ. She's always up to try anything. I let the Harley go after I fell in love with those early car curves. Took me a minute, but I found it... Derailing my own thread here. It's not Mopar. However it was a stepping stone on my way to my Chrysler.

  7. I chased a dash rattle that turned out to be the drivers side defroster vent. You will have good access to it while the dash is out. Be pro active. It's hard to tighten after the fact. Jim M

  8. On my P15 there were some anti rattle cloth type strips between the sides of the dash and the side of the frame near the door openings. I may have reused them, I don't remember. I don't have any dash rattles, I think the strips were a little bit of "good practices" overkill. The purpose of the piping under the front of the window garnish may have been to prevent air leaks from the defroster channels in the garnish.

  9. I did the same as Andydodge. There are no dash rattles. You could use fender welting as piping and pieces of inner tube for insulators.

  10. The only ones that look familar to me and to be honest I'm going on my RHD Oz 1940 Dodge but in the 1st pic the piece with 2 holes I'm pretty sure is for the steering column/dash support bracket that bolts to the underneath of the dash and the column and gearshift shaft go thru the bracket......the 4 others look like anti rattle/squeak pieces that go between the underneath of the dash and the edge of the door jam......you can see the little bracket at each end of the dash in pic # 4........thats what the pieces look like to me......when I redid my Dodge I didn't bother installing the piping that was around the front screen garnish molding nor did I worry about those pieces are each end of the dash...................that was 40 odd yrs ago........lol.........but I suppose its worth doing if you have the time etc..........regards, andyd
