  2. Is 4th gear 1:1 ratio?

This of course would be qualified by a sound engine in good internal condition. I know this has been your experience for a number of years to date. Mine I run at 2400 RPM for 62 mph or 100kmh but I have 3.23 gears. These old brutes can handle this far better than any Stovebolt splasher or Banger engine that's for sure.
  3. Charging problem

Hi Don I touched field to batt. got a little spark . With everything back together turned on the headlights with the engine running ammeter wet negative and stayed there even as I revved the engine .
  4. 265 Engine Color opinions

  7. Welcome!

Thanks for the invitation. I have not been very active lately on p15-d24 because I've been focusing on a newer Plymouth.
  8. Woodgrain Thoughts

Silverdome those came out really nice. Those driftwood colors can be tricky Jdee.
  9. Woodgrain Thoughts

Here is a pic of a part I have in the shop. Jdee
  10. 265 Engine Color opinions

I know this is not much of a mechanical or technical post but I paint cars for a hobby and value appearance as much as I'm starting to value performance, engineering, and craftsmanship. I have my 265 in the shop right now and starting to plan the paint details and I'm considering a paint a Cummins Beige color. Has anyone ever seen a mopar flathead this color or have a picture of a sample they don't mind sharing? Or, if anyone can share a picture of a detailed Mopar Flathead that is not silver, cast iron, red or black in color. For some reason I see most within these colors. The engine will be a 265 with Spitfire head, AOK triple, and split exhaust. Thanks in advance for any pictures or input you dont mind sharing
  11. Where do you get the little springs?

    Ok now I understand :.
  12. Where do you get the little springs?

I think you misunderstood my statement. I never said I wanted to swap springs around! When I said "these springs" might work for the brake pedal return spring, I was referring to your tip of the springs on Ebay. Not my clutch and handbrake springs.
  13. Woodgrain Thoughts

Thanks. The Sapele pattern was used on a lot of cars. We have a video up that shows a lot of patterns and what they were used on. In this video It shows the Sapele starting at the 5:00 mark. Youtube video here. Jdee
  14. Woodgrain Thoughts

That is really good , same colour as my 48 dodge
  15. Woodgrain Thoughts

    Very nice jdee.
  16. Woodgrain Thoughts

    Wow! I call that perfect.
  17. Me and the Meadowbrook

    Love those doggies !!
  18. Where do you get the little springs?

Why not? These are just pedal return springs. See pdf brake pedal springs.pdf
  19. Where do you get the little springs?

I think clutch spring is too hard for accel. I don't understand how you want to swap springs around, aren't you going to use them?
  20. fluid drive downshifts

Seems to me you're hoping it's an electrical problem. As 1949Goat mentions could be high idle, but also : FAILURE TO UPSHIFT (a) Electrical Governor permanently grounded. Relay inoperative. Blown relay fuse. Kickdown switch permanently grounded. Wiring circuits grounded. (b) Hydraulic Insufficient or improper oil in transmission (10-W engine oil-3 pints capacity). (ISO-32 Hyd oil 1.41 Litre) Oil pump producing less than 40 lbs. pressure. Restricted or bound pilot valve and main valve. Relief valve stuck in open position.
  21. Woodgrain Thoughts

The pic of the two colors are originals. It is our tools from Grain It. that were used in this pic. Jdee
  22. Swap 1950 Chrysler 6 to a 340

it looks like he extended his his control arm and welded it
  23. Front Suspension

Does anyone know where i can get just the nuts for the Outer Control arm Pins? I really do not want to spend the money for a complete kit of bushings and pins when all i need is the Nut
  24. Is 4th gear 1:1 ratio?

Got a 4.11 in my coupe, 65 indicated is 62 over the road, calc with 225 75 15 works out to 3280 rpm. The old fellow who did my machine work told me 80-85% of peak HP rpm (3600) makes for happy motoring.
  25. How to keep the mice away?

Ditto on the Peppermint oil, here is the one I use very strong, good stuff. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PRMTNNG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  26. Woodgrain Thoughts

Jedee, did you do the wood graininess? Or is it original? If you did it, what process did you use?
